On behalf of the Vestry, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the formal installation of Fr. Greg Kimura as the Rector of our church. Although Greg has been with us and leading the parish for many months now, the canons require that a rector be installed in his office by the Diocesan Bishop. Bishop Taylor will come to St. James on Saturday (yes, Saturday) January 18 for a ceremony at 10 am. This will include a choral Eucharist and will be followed by a light lunch.

This is a chance to participate in one of the rarely used services in the Book of Common Prayer in a tradition going back centuries. Even the word “install”  comes from the liturgical use to place someone in an ecclesiastical office by seating them in a choir stall. It is an important moment in the history of St. James and we hope you will be able to be part of it.
