The mission of Saint James’ Community Food Locker is to extend Christ’s love in a tangible way by providing approximately 50 bags of food to those in need every Friday, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM.
The bags include canned and dry food, fresh produce, and bread. Financial support and food items are contributed by parishioners, but food donations are also received from local schools, Calvary Presbyterian Church, and other community organizations and individuals. Day-old bread items are donated by Vons and Pavilions supermarkets. Fresh produce is obtained from the South Pasadena Farmers’ Market.
Farmers’ Market Produce Pick-Up
Every Thursday evening, volunteers pick up produce from farmers’ market to be given out on Friday afternoons to food locker recipients.
